Dear AT&T, Whatever You’re Doing AT SXSW, Do It In San Francisco & New York
(via laughingsquid)
Too late. It’s not just SF and NYC. In fact, I give much less of a flying donkey’s arse about slight issues in cities. The places it counts are those areas where my phone is the only connection I have to the rest of the world. Rest stops in BFE. I-40, somewhere miles away from the next phone. THAT’s where I want my phone to work.
AT&T once were those guys. While everyone else fought for dominance over the cities, AT&T took the Ma Bell breakup easy - concentrating on rural areas, farmers, small towns. And making a killing in the process.
With its new network, AT&T lost much of that. And, lucky me, Verizon stepped in. Which means I get a Droid, an uncensored App Store, and network in Amboy, CA. And that alone was worth the early termination fee in gold.
